CCSA's Issues of Substance Conference

CCSA’s Issues of Substance 2021:
A Virtual Experience!

The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction invites you to attend CCSA’s Issues of Substance 2021 conference. The conference takes place November 23–25, 2021, as part of National Addictions Awareness Week.

Substance use is a complex, far-reaching and consequential issue. COVID-19 is making the substance use landscape in Canada even more complex. It takes a wide range of perspectives and collective efforts to drive the needed change to shape a brighter future for people who use substances. Appropriately themed Driving Change Together, CCSA’s Issues of Substance 2021 will bring us together with our different viewpoints. We will work in cohesion to create a Canadian society where evidence transforms approaches to substance use.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CCSA is making the 2021 event entirely virtual to ensure the safety of our attendees and presenters. The conference will take place over three half days. This year’s event will still feature keynote presentations, concurrent sessions and poster presentations. The conference organizing and program committees are working diligently to bring attendees all the features they have come to expect at CCSA’s Issues of Substance, this year through a virtual offering. There may be a few new features we add too! Stay tuned for more developments on the virtual program as the conference draws closer.

CCSA is once again pleased and honoured to have the Mental Health Commission of Canada as a national partner for our event. As part of their involvement, there will be a focus on the interconnection between mental health and substance use in the conference program.

CCSA’s Issues of Substance conference provides an unparalleled opportunity to share new research, best practices and personal experience related to substance use and addiction, prevention, public education, harm reduction, treatment and recovery. It is also a unique opportunity for a broad cross-section of communities to meet virtually. Join us for Canada's premier national conference on substance use and addiction!
