Innovative justice and treatment partnerships are characterized by various degrees of integration of legal and treatment processes anchored by multidisciplinary interventions aimed at eradicating or reducing the impacts of determinants of crime, such as trauma, mental illness, substance abuse/addiction, poverty, homelessness, brain injury, discrimination, etc.
The ultimate objective is the more effective utilization of resources in a manner that optimizes holistic rehabilitation, including the quality of life, health and safety of individuals, families and communities.
